Rosarae was born and raised in small town, USA. As a Hoosier, she played at the normal kid stuff, including the requisite basketball. But underneath, her burgeoning creative was restless, and she began producing home movies and turning her mom’s trash into tramp art treasures.
After the innovation of her childhood years, Rosarae made her way to Bowling Green for her degree in Architectural Sciences at Western Kentucky University where she proudly matriculated summa cum laude. She decided she hadn’t had enough exposure to grits or Julia Sugarbaker, so she journeyed further south, landed in Savannah, and began her graduate studies. After lots of studio hours and a few years of soaking up the regional architecture (and accent), Rosarae received her Master of Arts from the Savannah College of Art and Design. As she has evolved, her focus has become designing within the local community while considering a global perspective and a commitment to sustainability.
While working for Gensler, Rosarae headed LEED certification efforts for a 250,000 square-foot project. Honing her “green thumb” at every opportunity, she became a sustainable design specialist and has worked hand in hand with contractors, clients, and manufacturers to implement the very best that the environmentally conscious product market has to offer. Some of her notable previous projects include a private business headquarters in Durham, Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice in Charlotte, An in Cary, NC, and Charlotte’s Duke Energy. She also worked for a spell at Wright McGraw Beyer Architects, a Charlotte healthcare firm. At Vignette, she is a precious commodity with the know-how to make both residential and commercial projects run lean and green. But if that’s not enough to get your motor running, noodle on the fact that she has taught at both Queens University and Winthrop University, all the while being an advisory board member and student mentor for UNC Greensboro. Whoa.
When she’s not at work, Rosarae can be found outdoors with her husband, their adorable daughter, and their two Boston Terriers. She is also fond of being barefoot and getting her house up to snuff while listening to K.C. & the Sunshine Band.
